This high-quality glass art vase was handcrafted during the 1960s in the former Czechoslovakia. It was designed by the famous Czech glass artist Jirina Zertova (*1932).
The sculptural design of the fine engraved glass vessel combines influences of modernist style as well as Art Deco style elements.
The work of the trained architect and designer was exhibited and awarded at the Trienale di Milano in 1957, followed by Czech glass design shows, exhibitions in Vienna, at the Helller Gallery and the Miller Gallery, both New York and at the Nakama Gallery, Tokyo. Since 2007 she has been a member of Mánes Union Fine Arts. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
issues arising from misattribution
