This high quality bottle-shaped studio ceramic art vessel was created by the important German ceramist Walburga Külz (1921-2002) during the late 1950s.
The fine object was sold via the renowned Stuttgart art gallery 'Kunsthaus Schaller' (1860-1999).
Typical for the work of Walburga Külz this early sculptural object combines rustic, even archaic design elements with modernist influences and principles of the Bauhaus movement.
The artist Walburga Külz was trained in Otto Lindig's famous ceramics workshop during the 1940s. Later she also worked as an intern at the Fürstenberg porcelain manufactory before she studied painting on ceramics under Siegfried Möller at the Nordic Art Academy in Bremen.
After completing her master's examination in Weimar in 1946, she worked for Otto Lindig again. In 1947, she took over the management of the renowned Margaretenhöhe ceramics workshop in Essen, Germany. This piece has an attribution mark,
