late 19th-century room size magnificent large antique Caucasian Soumak rug features a rare Dragon medallion pattern. The rust ground with contrasting green, blue, and yellow tones make this striking piece an exceptionally rare and appealing example that is seldom found in this size. Soumak's rugs are flat woven in an original technique similar to that of kilims, however, they are more complex in nature, tighter in weave, and more durable.
