Chulucanas vases are made today as they were in pre-Incan times----of sand, clay, and mango leaves. The fourth component------climate------is what gives the finished pottery its lustre and deep color. The pottery is made in the Chulucanas region of far norther Peru.
The vase was signed by the artisan on the base.
