A fabulous pair of antique French faience Alcide Chaumeil (CA) armorial plates with a coat of arms in the center, ermine tails of Brittany, the signature blue semi-circle and red dot border of CA faience, and a raised relief scalloped rim. Marked CA on the reverse;. Circa 1880 - 1920, likely from the earlier part of that period due to the type of CA mark.
In excellent antique condition with a glaze chip on the rim, glaze flecks and wear on rims, small areas of glaze crawling form production, and the heavy crazing which typifies CA faience. See photos.
