The body is blown and cold-worked to a substantial, jewel-like thickness, then finely polished on all exterior faces so the saturated ultramarine glass reads as a solid block of color, almost lapidary in effect. The octagonal lid is slightly stepped, echoing the geometry of the base and creating a subtle play of light along the beveled edges.

The casket is fitted with a flat-profile gilt-metal hinged mount, warm in tone and neatly mitered, providing a clean modernist accent rather than overt ornament. The interior is smoothly polished, with the octagonal well mirroring the outer form; when closed, the lid aligns precisely with the base, demonstrating careful workshop finishing. The overall aesthetic—bold color, simplified geometry, and precise polishing—is closely allied to Murano and French crystal decorative boxes produced for the luxury market between about 1960 and 1980.
