This is a whimsical ceramic asparagus server or drip tray, designed in the form of bundled asparagus spears. The surface is molded with ridges to resemble the stalks, hand-painted in soft yellow-green tones with small leafy details, and tied with raised green “ribbon” bows for a trompe-l’œil effect.
One end features a textured pink tip mimicking asparagus heads, while the base has small feet and drainage holes—typical of pieces meant to hold and drain cooked asparagus. The playful realism and hand-painted finish suggest a vintage European majolica-style serving piece.
