The painted black finish augments the robust appearance, although the sconces are surprisingly lightweight, making them easy to affix to a wall. An elongated dropdown noix has subtle hammer marks, adding to the character of the sconces. Taught chains wrap around the noix, connecting to an angular and barbed backplate that echo the fleur de lys that adorn the tips of the flared basket around the light source. The sconces are currently not wired, allowing for great flexibility in the final installation, as a homeowner can opt for gas, electric, or candle-powered illumination.
