Carved by hand—each with a wooden body, tin-cut fins, and a lead weight tucked beneath—they were likely crafted to tempt Northerns or Muskies beneath winter ice. Their colors are wonderfully bold: greens, reds, yellows, and muddy browns layered in the slightly improvisational way only regional makers achieve. A few bear faint, indecipherable signatures, but the hand feels consistent across the group—one maker, one rhythm, one quiet vernacular style.

Unlike lures, which are pulled through the water, these are decoys: meant to hover and sway, mimicking prey with a slow, hypnotic drift.
