It is hallmarked on the bottom genuine silver crest bronze SMA 518-36.59. It borders Art Deco and 1940's. The interior is the original wood color which has not been altered. This makes a great desk accessory or for a cocktail table. It was once professionally polished but may show signs of some patina. The corners are rounded and the silver plate bar on the top is silver plate and was probably left blank at the time so it can be monogrammed with a jeweler if you wish of your initials. We like it plain. Silver Crest was a very fine manufacturer of metals from the time period. See less
