Midcentury or earlier typical storage/carry-basket from Thailand, handwoven of split bamboo and rattan; the bamboo strips have been staiined or dyed a darker color for pattern interest.
Used to store rice, carry food to field workers, or contain household items, this simple and practical basket is 11.5" tall, 13" wide,
narrowing to a square wooden bottom (9.5" x 9.5"), with a decorative curve accented by brass corners.
Could be used as a small chair or bedside table as well as storage or display. It's in perfect condition.
