✨ Exquisite Antique Jean Pouyat Limoges Handled Basket c. 1906
This is a beautiful, authenticated piece of antique French porcelain from the renowned Limoges region, manufactured by the Jean Pouyat (J.P.L.) factory. This highly collectible basket would have served as an elegant bonbon dish, nut bowl, or small centerpiece.
Key Features & Authentication:
Rarity & Date: The base is clearly marked with the specific date stamp "PAT'D JAN. 23 1906," which applies to the unique mold/shape of this basket. This dating places the item firmly in the early 20th century.
Manufacturer Mark: Features the classic underglaze green factory mark of "J. P. L. France" (Jean Pouyat Limoges).
Decoration: The piece boasts incredibly detailed, heavy raised gold gilt applied in an ornate, scrolled pattern around the bowl's exterior. The sculptural handle is also fully covered in thick gold gilt.
Size: Measures approximately 5.5" high to the top of the handle and 4.75" wide across the bowl.
