Apologies for the glare in these photos — the original artwork is far more striking in person. This signed Gilded Age portrait of a young man, dating to 1866, is truly a gem. An oil on canvas, it captures a handsome young gentleman, clearly a member of the upper class of the period, portrayed with elegance and precision.
