A 19th century French Napoleon III marquetry jardinière, or cache pot, made of mahogany with burl of elm veneer, various wood inlay and ebonzied trim. Bronze-mounted with two handles, gallery and corner ornaments. Original zinc liner. A beautiful planter for the display of orchids. Overall good restored condition with minor losses. Circa 1875-1890.
