This is a vintage plaster cast statue of the Dawes Black Horse Brewery horse, created by Canadian artist Ross Butler circa 1930. Butler, known for his realistic livestock sculptures, produced this model for Dawes Brewery’s iconic Black Horse Ale branding. A rare and historically significant piece of Canadian advertising art, it beautifully represents the intersection of fine art and commercial design in early 20th-century Canada. The statue is in vintage condition with light wear and minor paint loss consistent with age. Structurally sound and displays beautifully.
