Pair of Italian Piemonte's Walnut Nightstands ~ End Tables , Painted on a custom mix black color, distressed wood and finished with clear satin water based polyurethane. The interior has been kept on its original Walnut color.
Gracefully carved in Italy about 1920, this pair of top walnut lamp or bedside tables have beautiful inlaid banding. Dramatic moldings, convex panels and striking hand-carved details are characteristic of antique palazzo furniture from the Piedmont region of Milan.
The side panels are raised. Drawers are hand dovetailed, and these charming tables are a true Right and Left pair, great companions for any room. The doors open opposite each other to reveal an storage space , and a convenient drawer adds to that aspect. Cast brass knobs provide access.
Very good condition considering the age. There is some typical wear, wood shrinkage, and small scratches. Wear is normal and appropriate to an item of this age.
