This is an original designed Lee L. Woodard & Sons English Ivy 5 Patio Dining Set. It has the Makers … Read more This is an original designed Lee L. Woodard & Sons English Ivy 5 Patio Dining Set. It has the Makers Mark label on a chair noting Lee Woodard & Sons out of Owosso, MI. Its design of wrought Iron and mesh is attributed to Russell or Joseph, two of Lee's sons. Russell went on to be widely acclaimed as a Mid-Century patio furniture designer and is the more likely designer of this set, but some accounts attribute it to Joseph. It was introduced in the 1950s to much acclaim and widely produced in the 1960s. The table pedestal base is the original design which clues its age to the 1960s or earlier. The umbrella hole cap is also present, which is very rare. It’s been newly painted in one of the original colors - buttercup yellow. It was also released in white, black and dark green. This is an original Mid-Century iconic steel mesh patio dining set that has been cared for beautifully over the years. It’s an exceptional addition to any home.
