A series using uprooted trees in landscape painting as analogies. The twisted, earthly forms embody struggle and resilience, urging one to confront what lies hidden inside, demanding deep reflection and igniting a primal connection to strength emerging from disorder.
The background of this painting is faux gold leaf paint. The overall painting has a gloss sheen. Like all glossy paintings throughout history, a light reflection or hotspot may be visible from certain angles.
About the artist: Stephen Remick was born and raised in Vermont. He earned a BFA in Painting from Swain School of Design, a small art school in Massachusetts.
