An exceptional example of late 19th-century craftsmanship, this Victorian Renaissance Revival flip-top games table combines elegant form with versatile function. The dual-sided top features a pristine plain surface on one side—ideal for writing, serving, or display—and a stunning inlaid game board on the reverse, showcasing both chess/checkers and backgammon layouts in contrasting light and dark hardwoods.
The table is preserved beneath a custom-fitted glass top, ensuring the vibrant inlay work remains in flawless condition while allowing the beauty of the craftsmanship to be fully appreciated.
The intricately carved walnut base displays classic Renaissance Revival motifs, including quatrefoil medallions, reeded legs, and turned central supports, all resting on four original polished brass casters for effortless mobility.
