Back in 1985 I bought this mirror in Tokyo at a furniture flea-market. They told me it was about 30 years old, then. I did replace the mirror but the rest is untouched. It meaures 37.5 inches high, 20 inches wide, and 10 inches deep. (the mirror glass is 23.5 inches x 11.5 inches)
Did a geisha use it? probably not.
Is it definitely hand-made Japanese traditional wooden joinery? yes
