Hand-painted in blue and white, this platter is adorned with intricate floral motifs inspired by Chinese patterns. The pattern is hand painted with fine brush strokes onto the fired and porous substrate, and is protected by an overglaze. Meissen porcelain was manufactured in the 18th and late 19th century. It carries the oval "Meissen" backstamp with a five-pointed star below, indicating its authenticity as a Meissen product. This mark was used from December 1882 to December 1929. See less
