This beautiful Reed & Barton silver-plate and aqua glass pickle castor (pattern 1095) is truly a RARE find. While the pickle fork is mismatched*, that fact cannot detract from the ornate beauty of this piece. The lid depicts detailed flowers, while the horizontal bands depict cherubs being pulled in chariots by deer, ostrich, and butterflies. Additionally, the toggles that hold the handle are deer heads. Finally, the beautiful hand-painted floral design on the aqua blue vessel mimics the flowers on the lid. All images symbolize god's dominion over all creatures great and small. A truly one of a kind addition to any antique glass, silver-plate, or servings piece collection.
