Vintage Chinese embroidered silk panel, beautifully depicting the “Legend of the 100 Boys” Playing (also known as the “Legend of 100 Children Playing”)—a well-known Chinese folk tale symbolizing happiness, prosperity, and a flourishing family lineage.
This artwork features exquisite hand-stitched embroidery on silk showcasing a joyful scene of children playing, flying kites, fishing, and engaging in traditional pastimes. The fine silk background enhances the vibrant colors and detailed craftsmanship, making this piece a true testament to Chinese textile artistry.
The panel is framed in an antique gold gilded multilayered frame and matted a traditional silk brocade in a repeating geometric pattern. The back paper is brittle and torn, and also has discoloration where museum putty was applied in lower corners. Otherwise it is in good condition, with bright, well-preserved colors and a solid frame.
