Vintage Chinese embroidered silk panel, beautifully depicting the “Legend of the 100 Boys” Playing (also known as the “Legend of 100 Children Playing”)—a well-known Chinese folk tale symbolizing happiness, prosperity, and a flourishing family lineage.
This artwork features exquisite hand-stitched embroidery on silk showcasing a joyful scene of children playing, flying kites, fishing, and engaging in traditional pastimes. The fine silk background enhances the vibrant colors and detailed craftsmanship, making this piece a true testament to Chinese textile artistry.
The panel is framed in an antique gold gilded multilayered frame and matted a traditional silk brocade in a repeating geometric pattern. The back paper is brittle and torn, and also has discoloration where museum putty was applied in lower corners.
