Origin … Read more This is a Drawer Front that was Removed From a Authentic Antique - Circa Early 19th Century Apothecary Cabinet. Origin European - Most Likely England. It has Been Repurposed so that Now it Can be Beautifully Displayed as a Interesting and Unique Wall Decoration. It is Made Out of Solid Mahogany with Ebony Inlays that Give it the illusion of Actually Being 3 Separate Drawers so as Depict - Follow Through with the Design of the Large Apothecary Cabinet that Would Have Had Contained Many Different Sizes & Shapes of Drawers. This Was a Large Drawer that Was Intended to House 3 Different Medicinal Items. The Beautiful Gold Leaf and Hand Painted Black Lettering Labels Denote the Different Items Contained - Identified in Latin as. #1. LIMON C ( Citrus Limonum ) meaning Oil of Lemon. #2 AURAN C meaning Orange Fruit Peels - Rinds. #3 V.PIAE ( Unguentum Apiae ) Meaning Parsley Ointment - Salve. Note that the the Lemon and Orange was Typically Used a Flavoring Agent for Oral Medications. The 4 Hand Lathe Turned Drawer Pulls - Knobs are Original and Made Out of Solid Rosewood. It Still Retains its Original Varnish that has Developed a Wonderful Rich Color and Patina - DISPLAYS BEAUTIFULLY!. It has a Large Chip - Strip of Wood Missing on the Outer Frame at the Lower Right Corner Area - See Photographs in my Listing.
