Vintage 1950s leather-top longhorn tray by Keyes Fibre Co. (KYS-ITE), made in Waterville, Maine. This mid-century Western tray features a genuine leather surface with an embossed longhorn head, set into a molded KYS-ITE resin base with a deep brown rim.
These leather-topped versions were produced in the mid-1950s as part of the Western-themed KYS-ITE line and were popular souvenirs throughout the American Southwest during the Western TV boom. The leather face gives the tray a warm saddle-brown tone and a rich patina that only decades of age can produce.
