The waterfall bench has a curved, sculptural scrolled shape. This was a hallmark of 1970s - 1980s design, popularized by Karl Springer and Vladimir Kagan. The point of the abstract geometric pattern was a rebellion against minimalism- it was zippy, alive and fun: it didn’t take itself too seriously.
This playful bench is tamed only by its earthy colorway, as the distinct geometric pattern; the upholstery and waterfall style are hallmarks of the Memphis Design movement. The same fabric used in Schweiger Industries Custom Furniture chairs; however, the tag has been removed so could not be identified..
