A wheel-engraved crystal decanter in the “Michelangelo” pattern by Baccarat, France, standing 10 inches tall with its original disc stopper. The rounded belly form, sometimes referenced in archival catalogues as Bursa or Marillon, is deeply cut with a repeating floral and foliate motif executed by hand on clear lead crystal.
The base carries the acid-etched Baccarat signature used in the mid-20th century. The pattern belongs to a limited series of engraved designs produced by the firm during the postwar period, distinct from later molded lines. A refined example of Baccarat’s traditional hand-cutting and engraving techniques, suitable for display or service.
