The rounded body is engraved in continuous foliate bands with stylized fleurs-de-lys, executed in deep wheel-cutting on clear lead crystal.

The base bears Baccarat’s acid-etched signature, indicating post-1936 production of a design first documented in the 1907–08 and 1916 catalogues. The form closely follows early 20th-century models within the Chablis service, known for refined engraving and elegant bottle silhouettes.

A strong example of Baccarat’s mid-century engraved work, retaining excellent clarity and the crisp, hand-finished detailing characteristic of the Maison’s traditional techniques.

The Fleur-de-Lys engraving (no. 5588), later incorporated into Baccarat’s Chablis service, was introduced in 1892 and appears in the firm’s 1907–08 and 1916 catalogues. The acid-etched Baccarat mark on this example indicates mid-20th-century production of the earlier pattern, executed using the Maison’s traditional wheel-engraving technique.
