Each volume opens with an engraved frontispiece protected by its original tissue guard—an unmistakable hallmark of late 19th-century. Inside each book, a beautifully printed Shakespeare coat of arms adds another layer of historic charm.

Varying degrees of wear to covers add character to these small books, which are 100-120 years old. Pages all clean and in good antique condition.

All books were published by J.M. Dent, Alpine House, London. Most volumes date from 1897–1898, with two duplicate titles issued in later years.
