This authentic John Widdicomb piece is extremely rare, even in collector communities, and is a certified showstopper. Crafted in a delicate fusion of the style of Louis XVI and French Regency, this commode dresser features four stacked drawers, each hand carved with fluting, rosettes, and florals among the evolute scrollwork.
The top drawer is almost a hidden drawer, with no exterior pulls and all the intricacies of a Widdicomb piece. The bottom three drawers boast original hardware, which are gold colored ring pulls. Fluted stiles continue down to the square tapered legs.
It is believed the original owner of this piece had it specially commissioned, and it very well may be one of a kind.
