This is a pair of Velvet Club Chairs, designed by John Hutton for Holly Hunt. The listed price includes the pair of two chairs and two decorative velvet accent pillows as shown. The chair has an indulgent Art Deco silhouette that recalls the glamour of Hollywood Regency. The exposed wood frame is cerused and finished black (with dark brown undertone) stained oak, and these examples have thick luxurious gray velvet fabric upholstery. The box cushions on the seat and back are substantial, allowing for maximum comfort while remaining tailored in form. The quality and workmanship of Holly Hunt pieces is outstanding, with no stitch or detail overlooked. Each chair measures 33 inches deep, 27.5 inches wide, and 33 inches high. They have a seat height of 19 inches and a seat depth of 26 inches. Overall, these chairs are in very good condition with only minor signs of fading. Please see photos.
The box cushions show light fading/creasing. There are some minor scuffs on the legs and the arms. As is visible in the photos with removed box cushions, there is fading of the original gray color of the velvet , but this is covered by the box cushions (see photos with John Hutton label/box cushion removed) . There is a small pulling/tear at a velvet seam in the inside back of one chair, visible only when box cushion removed- covered by the cushion itself .
