This beautifully time-worn santos figure is hand-carved from wood and retains traces of its original polychrome finish. The surface shows a wonderfully authentic patina—layers of aged paint, natural wear, and areas of exposed wood that speak to generations of devotional use.
The figure stands on a stepped base with remnants of green and dark pigments. The form and carving style suggest Spanish Colonial or Latin American folk-religious origins. Both arms show losses, and the top of the crown has age-related wear, all consistent with the piece’s age and history.
