From the Fortuny website:
"For over a century, our fabrics have been crafted by hand in Venice using techniques pioneered by Mariano Fortuny himself, each piece a meditation in artistry and time. Now, for those too eager to wait, we present our ready-to-own collection: the same artisans, the same singular methods, the same Giudecca workshop—stunning accessories finished and awaiting you."
"From our original factory on the island of Giudecca in Venice, we continue our deep rooted tradition of art and alchemy, proudly carrying forward the inventive methods created by our founder over a century ago."
"When Elsie McNeill Lee visited Paris’ Carnavalet Museum, she immediately fell in love with the lush fabrics covering the walls. Little did she know that her life from that moment on would forever be dedicated to celebrating those fabrics around the globe. The 17th-century inspired French design—with magnificent and intricate garden urns abundant with flowers—is framed by lavish cornucopia and elaborate scrolling swag. CARNAVALET was Mariano Fortuny’s first decorative design commission."
