Ravens are intelligent and mysterious. I often see them perched in a tree, casually observing the world around them. You would think that their monotone feathers and plumage would make them easy to draw, but to capture their true likeness you need to use different shades of black.
I used to follow a cartoonist who was obsessed with drawing ravens, and I always appreciated his work. I was in the mood to try my hand at some more ink drawings, and ravens are the perfect subject. I plan to draw 5-10 ravens for this series.
This ink on paper drawing of two ravens is on museum quality paper.
