The charger is painted in the refined famille rose palette with an elegant, asymmetrical garden scene: cranes, blossoming peonies, turquoise rockwork, and a lattice fence, all masterfully arranged. The open reserves around the central motifs give the design a feeling of ease and clarity. The result is a composition that feels balanced, calm, and painterly. Touches of gilt enliven the flower petals, and a small garden insect adds a traditional auspicious note symbolizing vitality.
The later stand—cark green lacquer with faux-bamboo legs and an X-form stretcher—supports the charger. A newly made low-iron glass top allows the porcelain to be used safely as a side table while keeping the entire mid-18th century painting visible yet protected.
