Artist Biography
Madeleine Plantey (1890 - 1985) was active/lived in France. She is known for Painting.Madeleine Plantey lost her father at a young age. Her mother gave singing lessons to support her three children. After a long life with Louis Milliat, she married him later in life after the death of Joseph Milliat, who had not wanted his son to marry an artist. The couple adopted a daughter.Madeleine Plantey was a student of Tony Tollet in Lyon . Her studio was located on Rue Laurencin. There she painted nudes, dancers, and still lifes. On Sundays, she would wander through the countryside, painting landscapes and gathering wildflowers for her still-life subjects. She also produced landscapes of Brittany.She exhibits in a gallery on rue Auguste Comte in Lyon, and annually presents her works "hors concours" at the Salon des Beaux-Arts de Lyon. She wins prizes in the Parisian Salons, she is a member of the Société des Artistes Français [ ] .In 1939, the Charpentier gallery dedicated an exhibition to him [] .Madeleine Plantey died in 1985 in Saint-Laurent-de-Chamousset .
