This Really is a Great Looking - Very Unusual Vintage Folding - Collapsible Low Chair. Circa Mid 1900s. These Types of Seats were primarily used in the Mid and Northeastern Regions of the USA. They were Very Often Used Canoes but could Also be used for Camping - Ice Fishing - Outdoor Sunning Etc. It has No Maker Mark but these types of Chairs Were Very Often Produced in the Maine or Up State New York. It is Completely Hand Made. The Frames are Made out of Steam Bent Ash Wood with Copper Rivet Fasteners. It Also has Strong Very Tightly Hand Woven Thick Leather - Hide Netting. The Chair is in Excellent All Original Condition and it Still Retain its Original Varnish. It Strong - Perfectly Usable. This could also easily be used as a Interior Chair in a Rustic Cabin Setting - Used as a Unique Decorator Item Etc. It would Also Make a Great Beach Chair.
I purchased these on one of my recent picking trips in the Down East - Coastal Maine Region.
