This authentic early 20th-century advertising piece was crafted by the renowned Belgian silversmith Wiskemann. A functional work of art, it served as both a matchbox holder (porte-allumettes) and an ashtray, likely used in a high-end hotel or cafe in Liège, Belgium.
The centerpiece features a detailed relief advertisement for Wiskemann’s famous silverware. The text highlights their "Metal Blanc" (white metal) and "Nickel Argenté" (silver-plated nickel) of the highest quality ("au 1er Titre"), alongside a classic depiction of a table spoon.
