This charming 19th-century bouillotte lamp features a beautifully aged solid brass base with elegant scrolling arms originally designed to hold candles, later converted to electricity. The lamp retains its neoclassic style with finely cast details and a tiered, rounded base showing a warm, authentic patina.
The standout feature is the black tole (painted metal) shade, decorated with a striking hand-painted gilt profile portrait framed by a laurel wreath, with additional foliate motifs along the lower edge. The adjustable central post and finial are consistent with traditional bouillotte form, and the lamp is fitted with dual pull-chain sockets, making it both functional and decorative.
