He was well known … Read more A 1950's Danish Modern metal table lamp designed by Danish designer Svend Aage Holm Sorensen (1913-2004). He was well known for his wide collection of light fixtures, reflecting his background as a licensed ornamental metalworker in the 1950's. Many of his designs feature metal surfaces with different ornamentation and perforations. This table lamp features a black painted asymetric metal shade with cut-outs that allow small bits of light to escape, resulting in an interesting illumination pattern. The lamp stands on an asymmetrical black metal base, adding a bit of space age verve to its shape. A brass stem connects the base and shade. The lamp has a new US plug that was installed by a professional electrician. No maker's mark was found. Comparisons were made to similar lamps using an images search. Dimensions: 16" H X 6" W X 13" D. The lamp is in very good condition for its age and use. There is minor loss of enamel to the shade. The brass stem has not been polished and has patina consistent with the lamp's age. See less
