This exquisite serving spoon was crafted in Montagnani, Italy, in a factory founded in 1871 by Giovanni Montagnani. The factory was renowned for its elaborate designs featuring statues, art pieces, animals, and angels, which captivated tourists visiting Italy. Unfortunately, the company ceased operations in 1910 due to the impact of World War I.

This piece is made of brass with an undetermined silver metal patina finish and showcases an ornate Baroque/Rococo style. The handle features a stunning mermaid design, while the spoon well includes an intricate depiction of a boy.
