Originating from the Oushak region of Western Turkey, this vintage rug represents the weaving heritage that flourished on the Anatolian plateau. Constructed through handweaving with wool on a wool foundation, it measures 6'7" x 8'4". The villages throughout Anatolia developed autonomous design traditions, with each community establishing its own distinctive motifs and color palettes that surrounding areas deliberately maintained as separate identities. Featured prominently in European historical paintings, these rugs earned their reputation among collectors and design professionals through commanding geometric compositions executed in restrained, elegant hues—characteristics that have ensured their continued relevance in refined interior settings.
