DESCRIPTION
Beautifu lidded folk art Swedish bride's box. Oval form. Steamed bent wood. Line carved with images of roses and other foliage. Wire bail handle. Swedish inscription on the lid. Inscribed with Initials "S K U" on one side, and faintly on the bottom "S. K. U. / Stockholm. / Sweden," probably the bride's initials.
CONDITION
Overall excellent. Some traces of old red and green paint remaining. Two stitches missing from the overlapping joint. Rich, robust age patina (all visible in the images). A LOVELY SCANDINAVIAN FOLK ART BRIDE'S BOX!
