Handcrafted in the storied Oushak region of Western Turkey, this vintage rug exemplifies the weaving excellence of Anatolia's plateau, where oriental rug traditions first took root. Constructed with wool on a wool foundation using time-honored techniques, it measures 4' x 6'10". Each village in this historic area developed distinctive design vocabularies and color palettes, rarely replicated by neighboring communities—a testament to regional pride and artistic individuality. These rugs gained prominence in European art, where their commanding geometric compositions and refined, understated hues captivated collectors and design professionals alike, establishing them as enduring design classics.
