This pair was originally a wooden double handled urn / vase, which was cut down the middle, hence making two identical halves, which were wired for lights. There is one large neck light bulb / light in each sconce. They now hang on the wall, and the brackets you see on the bottom back are just there for support, however these lights can easily be made to serve as table lamps. Great quality sconces, and cool finish. They (the urn) date to early 20th century, likely 1900's - 1930's, while the sconce job conversion was done in the 1990's. Photos show the details, please take your time viewing them, this is an impressive pair of sconces! Condition is good, showing age / use wear, new wiring (please see photos). Palatial large size of 19.75" tall, 16" widest point, and coming 8" deep from the wall. These babies are phenomenal, they could be used in any room, in any setting, traditional or mid-century modern!
