The high-gloss finish of this Pietro Costantini dining room table created a mirror effect, making it difficult to photograph it without all the reflections. The manufacturer is Pietro Costantini in Italy. The top of the table can be removed easily from the black base, which is composed of two triangles pointing to each other. The entire top is covered in exquisite wood veneer with a band going around the perimeter of the table. All of the pictures show the table with a 19.5" leaf in place. It appears that this table was used very little as it is in remarkably good condition. One corner of the top was damaged, possibly while being transported (refer to pictures 15 and 16). A small piece of veneer came off (refer to picture 15), and I glued it back in place, leaving only a small exposed area without any veneer on it. There is only one leaf for this table. It is secured by two locks (refer to pictures 13 and 14), one of which doesn't close all the way (refer to picture 14). When the leaf is removed, the two halves slide together on metal tracks on the base. This is a very heavy table!
I acquired this table as part of a set that included the six Pietro Costantini dining room chairs that I currently have in a separate listing. The chairs are all labeled with a manufacturer's tag underneath, but the table isn't marked with the Pietro Costantini label.
I photographed this table outside in late afternoon. It will invariably look different when viewed in an interior setting under artificial light. Please take this into consideration when matching colors.
