Chinese porcelain Da Ya Zhai lotus pond bitong, a circular brushpot with an Imperial yellow glazed exterior and a turquoise glazed interior and inset circle within the unglazed base, all covered with fine, small pattern, iron wire craquelure. A red, Da Ya Zhai mark and a red and white, Tian Di Yi Jia Chun medallion are glazed just below the rim. The brushpot is decorated with many, finely drawn and detailed, frolicking, Asian carp (Chinese: 鲤鱼; pinyin: Liyu), amid lotus pads and flowers, all with gold detailing and in low relief. A red and white, Yong Qing Chan Chun, Guangxu mark is glazed to the inset circle of the base. Circa Republic of China era, no later than mid century.
