Originating from the storied Oushak weaving centers of Western Turkey, this vintage rug represents generations of artisanal craftsmanship. Hand-constructed with wool fibers on a wool base, the piece measures 4'9" x 12'5" and embodies the technical mastery developed across the Anatolian plateau's textile traditions. Each village within this historic region cultivated its own distinctive design vocabulary and chromatic palette—rarely replicated by neighboring communities. The rug's restrained color scheme paired with its geometric compositions earned these textiles recognition among European collectors and design practitioners, who valued their sophisticated aesthetic qualities and versatile integration into refined interiors.
