Beautiful PIERRE DEUX Blue and White Provincial Pattern Cotton Table Cloth and set of 12 napkins. Titled: Mistral - Les indigence de Nimes. This refers to the famous Mistral wind in France. This amazing set has never been used. The find was from the PIERRE DEUX store in Carmel by the Sea, California when the store was being shuttered. Tablecloth is blue and white simple pattern with a 2.75" border of a deep rich paisley pattern in various shades of blue.
The history of PIERRE DEUX, literally means two Peters. In 1967 Pierre Moulin and Pierre LeVec started importing French Provincal fabrics into the United States, they opened a store in New York selling antiques and fabrics, the success was overwhelming and they continued to import more French fabrics including the famous "toile" - which is a pictorial fabric from the 1700's which they reproduced. The company grew with 22 stores. Due to the recession of 2008 all stores closed.
