An exceptional French Art Nouveau brass floor lamp attributed to Jules Cayette and Charles Schneider, circa 1920. This elegant lamp features a tall, sculptural base formed from intertwining brass scrolls, rising gracefully to support three pendant lights beneath a decorative finial. Each scrolling arm terminates in a delicately flared shade of mottled pink art glass in the manner of Schneider’s Le Verre Français studio, producing a warm and inviting glow.
The lamp’s open, architectural form demonstrates the transition from late-Art Nouveau to early-Art Deco sensibilities, with a fluid organic quality balanced by geometric rhythm. The intricate wrought scrollwork is typical of Cayette’s iron and bronze designs, while the glass shades reflect Schneider’s characteristic mastery of color and texture. This piece represents a harmonious collaboration of two major decorative artists of early twentieth-century France.
In nice antique condition consistent with age and use, retaining an even patina to the brass frame and some light wear to surfaces. The wiring has been updated for modern use, and the lamp displays beautifully, offering both sculptural presence and period authenticity. 69h x 16w x 16d
